NEW FOREST NATIONAL PARK

MANAGEMENT PLAN

(Revised)

In preparation for the availability of the National Park Management Plan on 22nd October 2009 it may be helpful to refresh our minds on the discussions and issues raised, together with the NFNPA’s official responses to questions at the NPA Public Meeting, held on 2nd September 2009.

Sue Davies (an experienced minute-taker) has kindly supplied us with her comprehensive notes from the public meeting, which can be found here.  (The NFNPA do not have their own transcript available, although we believe the evenings discussions were recorded).

Before you get your copy of the revised management plan, it may also be helpful to read the Government’s guidance on producing a National Park Management Plan, and can be found here.  This will prove very useful in your assessment of the plan’s conformity to ‘best practice’.

We are conscious that a significant number of residents do not have computers or access to the internet so would ask you to please pass on the telephone number of South Efford House (01590 646600) to any neighbours, friends or family who would like a hard copy of the document.  It should be sent free of charge in the post.

We have added another category in our Forum for discussions on the management plan – please feel free to participate, as we would like to incorporate your feedback in our written response.

Finally, just a reminder that anyone can send in his or her feedback on the plan to the NFNPA, you do not have to belong to a group or association – individuals have just as much right to contribute.

The NPA have supplied ONE VOICE with the following guides: -
