New Forest National Park Authority Meeting 23 June 2011

Ipley Room, Beaulieu Hotel, Beaulieu

Statement by Sue Baillie on behalf of ONE VOICE

Good morning Chairman and Members,

I hope not to use up my allocated 3 minutes today as I only have a few requests for your consideration regarding the Consultation Draft Guidelines for Horse Related Development Supplementary Planning Documents which are as follows: -

§       To allow the maximum consultation period of 6 weeks

§       To ensure a wider publicity campaign than used in the previous RMS consultation document and to pay particular attention to ensuring DIY yards, Livery Yards, (known) ménage owners, riding schools and equine studs are aware of consultation opportunity

§       To advise Parish Councils on the importance of bringing this consultation opportunity to the attention of their parishioners - perhaps by supplying appropriate posters for parish notice boards

§       To make clear the authority’s proposed policy on retrospective planning applications (not clear in draft document)

§       To include details of any enforcement strategy

§       To allow the final document to be in the public domain at lease 2 weeks prior to the authority meeting at which members will be asked to approve
