SIR, David Coates may be pleased to learn that the
NFNPA will not be 'safe' during the spending cuts next week - they will be
under the same scrutiny as any other local governing body. Secondly,
although there is (noticeably) little publicity from the NFNPA on the
subject - the authority may not be 'safe' in the current Review of
National Park Authorities Governance Arrangements. Defra's Minister,
Richard Benyon, has specifically expressed his interest in hearing the views of
NF residents, so we should all be able to participate in local public
consultation on the matter. More details are on our website.
