Mr Swayne: To ask the Secretary of State for
Environment, Food and Rural Affairs whether her Department plans to undertake a
public consultation as part of its review of the governance arrangements of
national parks; and if she will make a statement. [9241]
Richard Benyon:
As set out in the Government's coalition document, we will be reviewing the
governance arrangements of national parks. I have now written to the chair of
the English National Park Authorities Association on this issue. No timetable
has yet been set, but we will keep the DEFRA website updated on progress.
